Week 4
Gringos and chocolate milk
¡Hola todo!
I hope you are all doing fantastic this week! Thank you so much to those of you who reached to me throughout the week - it truly made me so happy! I am trying my best to respond to everyone, but know that even if I don't respond to you, I promise I did read and cherish your message. I love hearing from you all so much!!!
This week was so fast and so slow at the same time. The CCM feels like a fever dream sometimes
but I love it!
but I love it!
Scripture of the week
"Nevertheless, Jacob, my firstborn in the wilderness, thou knowest the greatness of God; and he shall consecrate thine afflictions for thy gain." 2 Ne. 2:2
And here's the update!
Viernes - Cantaremos en unión
~ My whole district (including myself) started feeling really really sick today. I got the stomach bug that's been going around here, and a lot of the elders got a bad cold. Spanish class was ROUGH

~ Couldn't eat anything except soup broth and juice
Sábado - Stomach flu or chocolate milk?
~ I upgraded to eating bread today, but still was feeling nauseous and in pain most of the time. I got a blessing later in the day - it was really cool!
~ At breakfast, all the gringo elders decided to see how many chocolate milks they could chug in one sitting. And let's just say…they understood the assignment. TRAYS and TRAYS of empty chocolate milks were PILED up on their table. All the Latino missionaries were flabbergasted

A couple of the elders threw up afterwards, and then promptly agreed to try and set a new record next Saturday

Domingo - Cuidará de mi también
~ Feeling sooooo much better today. Priesthood power is real! I ate actual food and it was DELICIOUS
~ Had the sweetest Jesus moment during an MTC devotional. I was reminded of my story, my desire to serve, and my testimony of Jesus Christ. I know that this is His church. And once you know, you know!
Lunes - Rich with the Spirit
~ So many sweet Spirit moments today! I LOOOOVVVVEEEEE being a missionary!
~ Taught a really powerful lesson with my comps today! We’ve been struggling with teaching in unity but today was really good! Our mtc teacher said we sounded like we’ve been in the field for half a mission already

Martes - Prayer, Prayer, Prayer
~ MTC devociónal…with Elder Roman of the Seventy! It was SOOOOOO GOOOOOD
~ One of our translation headphones broke during the devo, so I listened to the whole thing in Spanish. He called on me to answer a question about the sacrament, and apparently everyone was really impressed! It was cool!
~ I love talking to God all day, every day. Él es mi mejor amigo <3
Miércoles - Perseverar hasta el fin
~ Super fun Spanish class today. We practiced giving each other directions while blindfolded…I ran into a wall and one of the elders fell into a bush. My abs hurt from laughing so hard

~ We taught a really powerful lesson in Spanish today. My comp, who doesn't know a whole lot of Spanish, testified so powerfully and tenderly of Jesus Christ. We were all brought to tears, including the person we were teaching. The Spirit was so strong! Jesus lives and He loves us
Jueves - Little daily miracles
~ El templo this morning! It was so peaceful and my companion had a REALLY cool, really tender experience. She felt so filled up with the love of Jesus Christ, and it showed!
~ I love getting to talk to my family! So grateful for technology and for all the ways I've been able to connect with them while I'm on my mission!
Spiritual Thought
Today my mom & I were talking about a scripture, and I want to share it with you all too!
"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." John 16:33
Jesus tells us that we WILL have tribulation. There will be heartache, there will be sorrow, there will be pain. But He also gives us a promise: in Him, we have the opportunity to have peace. The choice is ours! He is there, ready to take us up in His arms and encircle us eternally in His peace.
If you feel like you need help reaching out to Him, you're not alone! Go to comeuntochrist.org and request to meet with missionaries, just like me, who want to help you!
I love you all, and I'm so so so grateful for your love and support. I have come to know that Jesus Christ is our constant Friend and Mentor, and I hope that something I've shared today has helped you feel His love on a deeper level. Because His love for you is REAL!
Go to Him, and you too can come to know, feel, and testify of His eternally tender care for you.
HAVE A GREAT WEEK!!! GOD IS WITH YOU!!!
~ Hermana Geary
