Week 27

Livin' on a prayer

Holaaa everyone!! 

Okay, a lot of you have messaged me because you didn't get an email from me last week  

My bad guys, I had it all written out but I forgot to send it until after 6, so alas - we choose obedience  So this email is actually from last week! Today is our temple pday (hence why I'm writing to you on a Thursday hahaha). So you'll get another email later today talking about this week too! 

But first, let's turn our minds to Jesus! 

 Scripture of the Week  

"Pray always, and not faint; that ye must not perform any thing unto the Lord save in the first place ye shall pray unto the Father in the name of Christ, that he will consecrate thy performance unto thee, that thy performance may be for the welfare of thy soul." 2 Nephi 32:9

Lets get into it! 

Lunes ~ I  my sector

~ Today was soooo fun!! We started out by eating breakfast in our pajamas at the elders’ house (we set up a table outside and they served us hot buttermilk pancakes with mate - it was a fine dining experience tbh)   

~ Later we went to play padel with the district (I'm not as much of a beast at this as I was at pickleball in the CCM ) 

~ Went to KFC with the whole gang of missionaries, and OHHHHHH my gosh it was so good haha. I've eaten fried chicken 3 times this week and I think I'm in heaven   

Martes ~ A pillar of light 

~ Today was good!! Honestly a little humbling for me too haha. Sometimes I feel like I have no idea what I'm doing, especially as a trainer  

~ We put a fecha with our friend Paula!!! The lesson was really good and we felt the Spirit super strongly. However… sadly we got a text from her at 7am on Wednesday morning that she doesn't want to be baptized  She said she still wants to keep reading the Book of Mormon and having lessons, so we're gonna see how it goes haha

~ We had a lesson with our friend Marielvis… AND HOLY COW!!! SHE'S SUCH A GOAT!!!! 

She told us all about this dream she had - in the dream, she was walking down a long path, and as she looked ahead, she saw a giant, white castle at the end of the path. She said that when she looked at the castle, it was beautiful to her and it filled her with peace. She told us that it felt like how Joseph must've felt during the first vision. Later in the lesson, we started talking about temples, and we showed her a picture of the Concepción temple. She explained to us that she wants to do whatever it takes to change her life around to be able to be baptized and make it to the temple - her white castle.  

~ Had pizza outside the elders house - another fine dining experience  

Miércoles ~ Unidos en Cristo

~ Consejo de distrito this morning!! I actually love my district so much - they're awesome missionaries and really really fun to be around! 

~ Hna Martin shared a really powerful spiritual thought about prayer during lunch today! She's such a baller missionary, the members all love her to death - and so do I!!! 

~ Noche de juegos tonight and let's just say that I DOMINATED in ping pong (don't ask Hna Ekins ) 

Jueves ~ Led by the Spirit

~ We've been finding crazy amounts of people lately - I don't even know how haha! I've lowkey adapted the flow to be a Chilean version, and it's been working really well! 

~ We found this one super awesome person tonight - she was almost baptized together with her family when she was like 10 and lived in Ecuador. Since then, she's moved countries, married into a catholic family, and visited a TON of different churches, trying to find the right one. After a good lesson and a bunch of inspired questions, she told us that she thinks she might be ready to give the Church of Jesus Christ a real chance and see if it really is His church. We tenderly promised her, with all of our hearts, that God loves her and that she will find Him as she seeks for Him here.  

Viernes ~ Whoopsies

~ Today was crazy  

First things first, we had lunch en centro so we called an Uber to share with the elders. Well, long story short, I accidentally called the Uber to a street that has the same name but is like all the way on the other side of the world from where we were supposed to have lunch  After getting it all figured out, we had a good laugh and the elders were really nice about it, though I definitely delayed our day by like an hour  my bad guys

~ Our QUEEN Valentina came finding with us today! Holy cow it was so fun haha. She has a baller testimony too!!!

Sábado  ~ My abs hurt

~ Today we had lunch with a family of 3, together with the elders. Their house is in the deepest part of our sector, so it was lowkey a good hour walk to get there. While we were walking, we look up ahead to see the elders standing on the side of the road hitchhiking  

One of the cars pulled over to give us a ride, and as we ran up to the door we realized it was the Hermano that we have lunch with  He was laughing so hard. Lunch was so fun, I love getting to know these members, and ohhhh my goodness it is so fun to share a sector with Elders  

Domingo ~ Rejoice in priesthood keys

~ What a day! There was a baptism after church (It was so special - I was brought to tears, and so was one of our friends who came to see it). But after that, everything had to get pushed down, and I also received almost EIGHTY referencias to do so we lowkey didn't have any time to work  

I was going crazy in the house so we did our weekly planning and comp study outside. The sunset healed me  

~ The elders came over tonight to give a priesthood blessing to Hermana Martin - and it was so precious. She's so amazing, and it was really tender to watch her realize the support she has and the army on her side 

 Spiritual Thought

What would happen if you gave yourself to prayer? What would be different if you talked to your Heavenly Father all day every day? What would you feel if you knelt down every night and had a deep conversation with your Father? 

These are questions that have been on my heart lately, and they are questions I want to extand to you all. If you don't yet have an answer, pray. Try it. See the difference it will make in your life. And if you don't yet know how to pray...well, that's why I'm here! Send me a message!

I promise that prayer will change your life. It will change your perspective and your attitude. You will have more gratitude and will feel your Savior right by your side. 

And I can promise you that because I experienced that here in Chile this week.  

In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
