Weeks 2&3
Hola from the CCM in Peru!!!
This week has been SOOOO good. I didn't have a pday last week, so that's why you haven't heard from me in a hot minute. I got to Peru late last Wednesday night, and it is so amazing here! The food in this mtc is SOOOO good (unlike provo haha) and the nature is breathtaking!
Since it's been a while, this email might be a little long - I have SO MUCH to update you all on! But if you don't read the whole thing, PLEASE at least read the spiritual thought at the end. It is a literal MIRACLE that happened this week, and I promise that if you read it you will be able to feel God's love for you, and you will come to know that He is aware of you and all your cares individually.
Before we get started, I'd love to share a scripture about hope!

"And what is it that ye shall hope for? Behold I say unto you that ye shall have hope through the atonement of Christ and the power of his resurrection, to be raised unto life eternal, and this because of your faith in him according to the promise." Moroni 7:41 <3
And here's the update!
~ Said goodbye to a lot of my people today. I am so grateful for the church family that I’ve been given here. Their fellowship and faith has inspired me and helped me grow my desire to become a more dedicated servant of the Lord. See y’all in 18!

Lunes - “Come unto me…and ye shall find rest”
~ Had a really good lesson about the Spirit today! It was powerful to recognize His influence in our lives and in the lives of those we teach!
~ Feeling comforted by my Savior as I face doubts & fears

~ My district are straight up GOOBERS. They make me laugh so hard and I love them so much already!
They also fasted for me and my family this past Sunday. I testify that God knows the ways our hearts ache, and He ALWAYS gives us the comfort, support, and miracles that we need, at the exact time we need them. This is my testimony to you. It’s totally okay to feel alone sometimes, but always remember that you’re not. You have the Savior of the world at your side, carrying you through wind and storm.
Martes - God blesses families
~ Last day of online MTC!! I am so excited to meet everyone in person

~ Packed the last couple of things before I leave in the morning!
Miércoles - No solo estoy <3
~ Said goodbye to my family this morning…and it was really sad. My heart aches knowing that I will be away from them for so long, but I am so glad that I have my Savior by my side. He is my home, so I can feel safe and sound, anywhere in the world.
~ Longgg day of traveling
~ Gave a Book of Mormon to the guy sitting next to me on the flight to Peru! We had a really good conversation and he LOVED the scriptures I shared with him
~ Really hard first night…but I now have a stronger testimony of prayer. If you ever feel like you’re alone, I PROMISE you that you’re not. He is there - anytime, anywhere.
Jueves - Yesterday, today, & forever
~ Hermana Ollis got here this morning! She’s a trooper!
~ Missing my family today. They gave me an amazing example & strength, and I now get to follow in their footsteps as I strive to become a better, stronger, kinder person. <3
Viernes - Strengthening the weak
~ Felt a little overwhelmed this morning, but Hna Ollis comforted me so much!
~ Alma 26:27
~ HNA DOMINIQUE IS HERE!!!
~ Both of my comps are going through a hard time. But honestly it’s really cool because we have so many opportunities to testify to each other and comfort each other in the Spirit

Sábado - One Lord, one faith, one baptism
~ There is such a beautiful Spirit here in the mtc. This morning we practiced teaching the restoration, and it was so tenderly beautiful. Our teacher, during a demonstration, read an account of the First Vision, and the whole room went quiet. Everything was calm, everyone was listening. The Spirit was so strong. I know that Joseph Smith really did pray in those woods, and God the Father & His Son Jesus Christ did, in all reality, appear to Him. “I know it, and I know that God knows it, and I cannot deny it, neither dare I do it.”
~ I LOVE my district. They’re goobers and make me laugh so hard, but they also have such strong testimonies and their love for Jesus Christ is tangible to me.

Domingo - Conmigo Él andará
~ My prayer today was to truly find rest. And I did. There are so many voices and noises that can overwhelm us and lead us astray, but I testify to you now and for all of time that Jesus Christ lives and that following Him is the only way to find rest.
~ Taught a short lesson in church about the role of the Book of Mormon in personal conversion. I feel the Spirit so strongly whenever I find the chance to bear my testimony of Jesus Christ. I know He’s there for us, and I am so grateful to be His representative.
Lunes - Yo sé, con todo mi corazón <3
~ Pretty normal day, nothing too out of the blue
~ One of my comps is from Grenada, and she’s definitely going through some culture shifts. A lot of things North & South americans consider to be rude are completely normal for her, so we’ve been having to navigate how to help her understand the culture of the area while also being considerate of her feelings. It’s definitely been a challenge, but we’re working through it together!
~ The Spirit is SOOOOO STRONG HERE!!!!
Martes - MIRACLE DAY!!!!!!!!!
~ See spiritual thought

Miércoles - He. Will. Be. There.
~ Kind of an off day, but it was still so good. I think we’re all tired from two weeks without a pday haha.
~ Learning how to teach in unity when my companions have never taught or done missionary work before
~ Lots of laughs, a few tears, gooooood pstudy, best district. <3
Jueves - The arms of our Savior
~ Pday today!!!! Finally!!!!
~ DOMINATED my comps in pickleball
~ Another temple trip! I felt so loved and just wrapped up in the Savior's arms.
~ Got to talk to my lovely familia!!!! I miss them so so so much. I am SO glad I got to hear from them today.

Spiritual Thought: "For behold, I am God; and I am a God of miracles." 2 Ne. 27:23
This past tuesday, we had a temple trip! And not only that...my companion, Hermana Dominique, had an appointment to receive her endowment!!! And let me tell you, satan did NOT want that to happen. But I learned, once again, that the God I serve is a God of miracles.
First, we woke uo at 6:30am like we do every day, only to find out that we were supposed to wake up an HOUR earlier to be ready to leave by 6:45. Buses full of missionaries were waiting for me and my comps so we could get on the road to the temple.
Once we got there, we all went inside, my district went downstairs to do baptisms, and the three of us waited for instructions on where to go for Hna Dominique's endowment. We waited there FOREVER. Then, the temple president comes out and tells our MTC teacher the situation (everyone was speaking Spanish so Hermano Lorenzo would translate for us). Apparently, Hermana Dominique's district leader (who signed her temple recommend in Grenada) forgot to include all the info that the temple needed. The office staff continued making calls to him while we waited, hoping that they would be able to get a hold of him. And WE. STARTED. PRAYING.
We prayed so hard for her in that waiting room. She needed these temple covenants. After a while, Hno Lorenzo went to the recommend desk to ask for an update. When they didn't have any good news for us, I started feeling sad and a little hopeless about all of it. But then, in the midst of the disappointment, I heard a still, small voice in my mind, saying:
"Be at peace. It will happen."
This little phrase repeated in my thoughts over and over. And I knew that God was going to come through.
After about an hour goes by, a temple worker comes out to update us. In Spanish, she asks Hno Lorenzo to translate to us that they weren't able to get in touch with the district leader and that Hna Dominique would have to wait to receive her endowment.
But right as Hermano Lorenzo opens his mouth to tell us, another temple worker comes running out. With a big smile on her face, she announces that they got all the information they needed, and that they were ready to help her go through the temple.
My God is a God of miracles.
Overjoyed and taken back, by what just happened, we said goodbye to Hno Lorenzo and went back into the office area. The templd matron, who was there to to explain the temple ordinances and covenants to Hna Dominique, then comes in and tells us that she doesn't know any english. Seeing as Hno Lorenzo wasn't there, it was suddenly up to me and Hna Ollis to translate. And we know sooooo little. But we willingly agreed and started listening, hoping that we might be able to be of some sort of help.
And HOLY. COW.
We spent a good 15 minutes in that conversation, and somehow, in some way, that I am wholeheartedly convinced was by the power of the Holy Ghost, we were able to understand EVERY. SINGLE. WORD.
With 2 1/2 weeks of Spanish training, we were able to translate an entire conversation and help this precious daughter of God learn about her temple covenants in her own language. No lies, no exaggerstions. Heavenly Father used two 19 year-old girls to change the eternity of another.
My God is a God of miracles.
There are so many other things that I want to share with you all, but I am hoping this will suffice: Heavenly Father loves you, is aware of you, and He is able to help you in your time of need.
I love you all!!! Pleaseeee keep emailing me, I love hearing from you!
Until next week,
Hermana Geary <3
