Week 11

Planting seeds & sweating buckets 

Hola todo!!! Espero que ustedes están supa bien y han tenido una semana lleno de milagros! Not gonna lie, this week has been kind of a blur haha! I've seen God move in so many amazing ways, and I've seen Jesus be my Comforter & Healer when we had some hard moments too. 

Today is one of our last real pdays of the transfer, so we're out and about and adventuring while we can! I might not have reception a lot of the day, but I'll read and respond to your messages when I can! I LOVE YOU ALL!!!! 

 Scripture of the Week 

"And thou didst hear me because of mine afflictions and my sincerity; and it is because of thy Son that thou hast been thus merciful unto me, therefore I will cry unto thee in all mine afflictions, for in thee is my joy; for thou hast turned thy judgments away from me, because of thy Son." Alma 33:11 . 

Lunes - Cactus & COLD. 

~ ZONE PDAYYYY

It was super chill. We played volleyball and did a barbecue, and then had a water balloon fight (I definitely lost) Afterwards our district got empanadas together. It was SOOOOOO FREAKING RICO and I had a lot of fun haha

~ There's a lot of cactus here and a couple of the missionaries legit got attacked by a cactus plant at the church  We spent a good amount of time today plucking the spikes out of an elders arm 

~ We had a desafío this week to see which companionship in our district could have the most contacts in a day…aaaaand the elders that lost had an ice bucket dumped on them in front of the zone 

Martes - Milagros y familias eternas

~ WE PUT A FECHA DE BAUTISMO WITH JULIAN!!!!!  Julian is the son of Noelsy (our recent convert). This family is going to be ETERNAL. 

~ I love God's creations. I feel the Spirit so much when I'm in nature! 

Miércoles - Barrio de milagros 

~ MIRACLES ARE HAPPENING HERE IN LA FLORIDA!!!! Y’all, I am literally serving my mission in the promised land. It is so crazy the work that God is doing here. He is preparing people for the Gospel. It is SO INCREDIBLE to be a witness of it. 

~ One miracle I want to share: Several months ago, the missionaries here were teaching a joven named Benjamin, and they even put him on Fecha. But not long before the big day, someone said a lot of bad things about baptism to him…he left and the missionaries lost contact with him. And the Hermanas here have been PRAYING and praying and praying that they would find him again. And he never showed, for months. But tonight…he showed up to noche de juegos! He played fútbol a bit and then asked to meet with our bishop. And tonight, after we got home, the bishop called us with the BIGGEST MIRACLE EVER - Benjamin said that he knew the church is true and wants to be retaught and prepare for baptism!!!!!! LIKE WHAT?!?!?! God is so good!! So never ever hesitate to plant a seed in someone, because it will always grow in its own time! Keep praying and keep hoping and KEEP PLANTING! 

Jueves - Sunsets & grandmas

~ Pretty normal day

~ Had a super cool lesson with one of our friends after almuerzo! They're all really old haha and every time we go to that house I always leave with hand-made bracelets or shoulder bags or something  They're awesome and our friend has such a servant heart

Viernes - Perfectly imperfect

~ Had ALMUERZO EN CASAAAA!! Genuinely my fav days. My comp made the most RICO arepas ever 

~ My biggest prayer lately is that I can learn how to make mistakes! To be okay with not being perfect and to humble myself. And to be okay with not loving the mission all the time too. 

Sábado - Poco a poco

~ Long hot day filled with miracles 

~ Had a BALLER lesson with our friend Cesar. The Spirit was so strong and he's truly growing! 

Domingo - Sun, sun, & more sun. And Jesus 

~ It's HOT today 

~ I  going to church 

There was so much going on today and it was pretty chaotic, but I felt so rested and so filled up when I took the sacrament. He gives me all the strength I need! He is my Best Friend!

 Spiritual Thought 

"And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them." Éter 12:27

This week I learned a lot about humility and weakness. Because truly, Jesus Christ was my strength. And something I learned before my mission was reaffirmed to me - if only good things come from God, and God gives unto us weakness, then maybe weakness isn't a bad thing. Maybe it is one of the most divine, merciful gifts an all-knowing & eternally-loving Heavenly Father could ever give. So this week, I invite you to think about your weakness...and rejoice in it!

My dear friends, there are miracles waiting for you. Reach out to your Heavenly Father and love Him through it all. I promise as you grow closer to Him, He will feel closer to you. You will feel His love and you will see miracles.
