Week 28

Angels, old food, birthdays, and miracles ✨❤️πŸ₯΄

Buenos dΓas todos!!!
This is part two of my adventures from the past two weeks. This one is a little longer because it's from last Monday all the way to today, so buckle up! (So much happened πŸ’€

πŸ‘‘ Scripture of the Week πŸ‘‘
"And we ask thee, Holy Father, that thy servants may go forth from this house armed with thy power, and that thy name may be upon them, and thy glory be round about them, and thine angels have charge over them." D&C 109:22

Let's get into it!

Lunes ~ One of the bros
~ Pday was so fun!! We started out by heading over to President's house in the morning because Hermana Crump had some cute winter clothes for Hna Martin lol. Now she won't freeze to death! (In the 50 degree weather πŸ’€
~ Went to Kios Club with the elders
~ We did an asado and played spikeball at San Juan's cerro! It was so pretty, it had a view overlooking the city, the mountains in the distance, fall leaves blowing in the wind. There were also some wild horses that came to hang out with us haha. It felt like a dream!
~ Afterwards we went to get Texas Cookies with the elders (I guess when you share a sector you end up spending all day together lol). It was SOOOOOO GOOD. It reminded me of Harrisonburg when we got crumble cookies after church every Sunday πŸ€

Martes ~ What even just happened.
~ OK LITERALLY - Today was probably themost crazy, out of pocket experience I've had on my mission so far πŸ€£
~ To start off: we had a zoom call with our training mentor right before district council, but the centro elders got there late to open the church so we had to do the call in the street. Once they finally got there, we set ourselves up in the primary room and Elder Enloe spilled his oatmeal all over the floor in the background of our call πŸ˜…
~ All morning, from like 7am to 1pm, we were messaging back and forth with the Hermana we had lunch with to try and confirm. At around 1:30, we got a message from her saying that it's actually this dude who works in construction and that we had the wrong number the whole time πŸ€¦πŸ»‍♀️ And he was legit just TROLLING us!!!! πŸ€£
~ Don't worry, it gets better: We found the right number of the Hermana, but couldn't get in contact with her, so the RS president told us to just go knock her door. Well, we show up, and she walks out confused and in bare feet, having just woken up from a nap. She starts panicking because she forgot to cook for us, but told us to stay & call over the elders because she'll figure something out. And boy, did she figure something out. She starts pulling old food out of her fridge - 3 day old noodles, stale bread, a bowl of brown cabbage, a pot of half-eaten beans that was left on her stove. But she was so excited to have us in her house, and we later found out that she's a friend the elders have in teaching. So, we ate it. And we prayed HARD. πŸ€£ It was genuinely one of the funniest, craziest things I've had happen to me on the mission. I couldn't stop laughing πŸ€£ Afterwards we all went to KFC go wash down what we just ate πŸ’€Hna Martin and I feel really nauseous tonight haha but I think it was worth it for the memory and for that pobrecita Hermana πŸ˜…πŸ₯°

^^ Can you see the fear in our faces?
"Here come the runs, doo doo doo doo ☀️ πŸŽΆ" - Elder Rohrbaugh

MiΓ©rcoles ~ PanamΓ‘ πŸŽΆ & wet socks
~ CONFERENCIA DE ZONAAAA!!!!
Holy cow, it was so good and so fun!!! I got to introduce my hija to the mission (Google photos πŸ˜…) and we heard some really really awesome messages and testimonies. I got so many answers to my questions and inspiration for how we can help our area more.God knows our questions, and He listens, and He answers. ❤️
~ Hna Martin and I lost a zone reto and had to do jumping jacks in front of everyone at the zone conference lunch
~ Afterwards the elders didn't want to pay two extra dollars for an Uber so we walked for like 15 minutes to a bus stop in the POURING rain. To make it better, there's a hole in the bottom of my shoe and my socks got SOAKED. πŸ’€

Jueves ~ πŸƒ πŸ€ͺ πŸŽ‰✨🌊 πŸ₯Ά
~ Pretty normal day - a couple cool lessons, some new people, referencias, lots of walking
~ It's getting COLD here holy cow!! Apparently the rain changes the weather by like 40 degrees here because I legit turned into a popsicle tonight

Viernes ~ The hills are alive, but not Hna Martin
~ This morning while we were contacting Hna Martin and I played a game where we had to race to every house that had a doorbell, and whoever got there last had to talk first. Well, I guess it really is “like mother like daughter” because she absolutely ATE it while we were running and has been complaining about a foot ache ever since πŸ˜… #classichnageary
~ We had lunch in an absolute MANSION of a house today, I could not believe where I was. The house was so big, they had a GIANT flat screen TV, and the place was stashed with bronze statues and expensive art pieces πŸ’ΈπŸ‘€
~ The elders broke out into a musical number from the sound of music during lunch - go see my Google photos. They actually crack me up so hard πŸ€£

SΓ‘bado ~ Testimonies for eternity
~ Spent the day contacting all of our friends in teaching to invite them to church! My feet hurt but my heart is full haha
~ Had an awesome lunch today - it was with a fam whose daughter is going to serve in Colombia soon, and we were able to give her some support and a little advice. She started crying during the conversation and told us that we were an answer to her prayer. ❤️
~ We put a FECHAAAA πŸŒŠ πŸŒŠ πŸŒŠ πŸŒŠ with our friend Juanita!!!!! Juanita is so cool. Her parents just passed away a few months ago and has been looking for a little extra hope in her life. We're also teaching her 18 year old sister and her 10 year old daughter, who are also super awesome & interested in growing closer to God! Jesus is saving FAMILIES here in Chile!!!

Domingo ~ Filled to the brim ❤️
~ HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!! I love my mom sooooooo much. It was such an amazing day to get to remember, talk to, and thank my very best friend. Love you, mama! πŸ₯°
~ I truly felt the sacrament today. You wouldn't think that one little sip of water and a crust of bread would make you full…but I walked out of that chapel today just so filled up.
~ Our friend Jose came to church today! He's sooooo cool - we found him in a street contact on Friday (#flow πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ), had a phone lesson with him on Saturday, and he showed up to church 30 minutes early today! He's super elect and was just soaking it all up!
~ Had lunch at the dome house again! I love the members here. I just feel so at home with them and it's awesome being able to serve them too. It's also so fun to be able to serve around so many missionaries - we had lunch with all 8 of us today! It was so dope!

Lunes ~ FELIZ FELIZ!!! πŸ₯³πŸ₯³
~ HERMANITA MARTIN'S BIRTHDAYYYY TODAY!!!!!! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰
~ District council in the morning (it was so filled with the Spirit. I love these missionaries so much). ❤️
~ Went to DON TEOSSSS with the elders and the APs - it was so fun! We planned a little birthday party out with Diego, our convert who works there. And HOOOOLLLLLYYY COW, THE FOOD WAS SO GOOD! I will forever and always hype up this restaurant because it was genuinely some of the best food I've had, especially on my mission
~ We threw another surprise birthday party for her at the Noche de hogar! The members here are so sweet and helped with everything. Hna Martin was crying tears of joy the whole time πŸ₯Ή

Martes ~ Meant to be missed ❤️
~ INTERCAMBIOSSSS!!!
Hermana Martin stayed in Las Pircas while I went to Centro with Hermana Ekins. It was so fun and I am so grateful for her!! She's going home this transfer and I'm gonna miss her so much. We got sushi tonight to celebrate, and it was divine πŸ˜πŸ˜

MiΓ©rcoles ~ Nadie. mΓ‘s. puede. hacerlo
~ Crazy day, lots of running around, great lessons, achy feet πŸ€ͺ
~ Had lunch with an inactive member - we showed her the Rome temple tour video and she started crying, telling us that she's gonna try everything she can to get back there one day.
~ Had a crazy lesson with our friend Jose - he had something happen in his family that was really hard for him, and he felt pretty broken up about it. It was honestly such a miracle lesson because we taught solely about the atonement, and got to bear our very personal testimonies of Jesus Christ. I honestly had no idea what to say at first, but I was able to share a little of my experiences with him… And I swear, we were there with him in his sacred grove. It was holy ground. ❤️

✨ Spiritual Thought ✨
"Here is my promise to you: Every sincere seeker of Jesus Christ will find Him in the temple." - President Nelson

Today, we went to the temple. Today, I found Him. There, bowing my head in prayer, soaking up the Spirit and remembering the great love of my Savior. And I found Him in the temple. And I continue to find Him, every single time.

I invite you all to make time for the temple. Maybe that means planning a trip within the next few weeks, or maybe it means putting a picture of the temple up in your room, or maybe it means finding your ancestors and bringing their names. Or, maybe for you it might mean learning about temples for the first time, truly understanding why we have them and how they point to Jesus Christ.
Whatever the next step, you know what it is - and I invite you to take it.

I also invite you - especially those of you who might not know very much about temples - to watch this video! Pay attention to feelings of peace or happiness you might feel while they explain the meaning of temples and what happens inside. My promise to you all is that you will feel closer and closer to Jesus Christ every time you get closer to the temple. It's His house! This is where we find Him πŸ’—

In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!

Have a great week everyone! I love you so much! Thank you for reaching out to me - I love hearing from all of you, it's so special to me to get emails from you!

All my love, all my prayers, and all I've got,
Hermana Geary ❤️ πŸ‡¨πŸ‡±

Ps. I love the mission so. much. ❤️
