Week 31
Sacrifices and privileges
Hola a todos!!! This week has been crazy and awesome and a little stressful haha! But first, and as always, let's turn our minds to Jesus!
Scripture of the Week
"Thus God has provided a means that man, through faith, might work mighty miracles; therefore he becometh a great benefit to his fellow beings." MosΓah 8:18
Let's get into it!
~ Spent all day en centro with the elders - I honestly love them so much, we have a little MachalΓ family here and it's really special!
~ We had a whole plan of getting back to the house by 5 so that we would have time to take a quick nap before pday ended… But when we showed up, the house repair guy had turned the whole house upside down and taken apart our beds
he said mine was a little crooked and needed to be fixed

Martes
~ Lots of referencias today! I love it but sometimes I just feel the need to get out of the house and work hahaha

~ The members here are the BEST. They're always looking out for us and are so open to help us with lessons or anything we might need!
MiΓ©rcoles
~ Today started off really well - a good workout, a great study, feeling motivated…and then after almuerzo, things went downhill
As we were walking to a lesson after lunch, I started to feel soooo sick to my stomach. After a lot of debating, I messaged Hermana Crump and went back to the house. We did referencias for an hour or two, and then left again to go to noche de juegos. Once we got there, I was still feeling really nauseous but knew we had friends that were gonna come so I started helping to set up. Then I started having REALLY intense stomach cramps and my head and arms got all tingly and I felt really dizzy. My companion asked the elders to give me a blessing and then we went home. On the way home, my stomach hurt so bad, I felt like I was going to pass out and had to sit down on the side of the street. That happened several times throughout the night and I barely got any sleep, but it was super weird because at 6:30am I woke up feeling perfectly normal, like nothing ever even happened

Jueves
~ Intercambios today!!!
Hermana Crump told me to take it easy today, but honestly I felt perfectly fine, just tired from not sleeping. So we decided to go through with our intercambios!
I was with the lovely REINA Hermana Wernli
And wow, she is so amazing. She has such a strong testimony of prayer and the Book of Mormon - the Spirit was so strong the whole day and I just know that she earned her testimony. I feel like I've known her for a long time, longgg before I met her 3 weeks ago.

Viernes
~ Today we had lunch with an hermana menos activa! She's super sweet and her story is awesome. Howeverrr the lunch was like, super chiquitito and we were still hungry afterwards
we had about 40 minutes left of our lunch block and we were right by KFC, so we decided to bust down on some fried chicken before we got to work

~ Leaving with the members has to be one of the best and also most humbling parts of the mission
There's a lot of returned missionaries in our ward and it's really easy for me to feel like I don't know what I'm doing when they come out with us haha

SΓ‘bado
~ Lots of walking, lots of contacts, confused weather. It was like, hot today
- I was in short sleeves and sweating. I prefer the cold so much more than the heat lol. Idk what I'm gonna do when we have to go back into the heat of the summer

Domingo
~ Another precious experience with the sacrament today
I just feel the strongest desire to help people feel what I've felt!
I just feel the strongest desire to help people feel what I've felt! ~ Had a BALLER afternoon. We had a really good weekly planning session - set some good goals and made good plans to be able to reach them. Later, we found 3 really awesome people and Hermana Martin gave out a Book of Mormon to one of them! One of them was a reference from one of the members - pretty cool!
~ We worked so hard today and were walking so much - my feet hurt so bad hahaha. But genuinely, there is no better feeling in the world than knowing you gave your absolute everything to help God's children come back to Him!
Spiritual thought
"When we comprehend His voluntary Atonement, any sense of sacrifice on our part becomes completely overshadowed by a profound sense of gratitude for the privilege of serving Him." - President Nelson
I watched this promise from President Nelson unfold right before my eyes this week. I invite you all to give a special focus to the Atonement of Jesus Christ - study it, think about it, learn to love it. I promise that you will feel His love more freely and frequently, and any sacrifice you give for Him will become purely a privilege.
In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
I love you all! Email me!
All my love,
Hermana Geary
